Last Knockout Standing: Taryn Terrell vs. Gail Kim

ODB is the ref. Kim’s ring outfit it awesome.

They began scrapping right away. Kim smashed Terrell into the buckles and nailed a leaping clothesline. Terrell came back with a series of clotheslines and a suplex. Kim cut her off with an Octopus-like submission.

ODB got to five counting down Terrell but Kim attacked Terrell and broke up the pin. Kim smashed her leg against the apron, then came off the top with a missile dropkick. ODB started counting Terrell down as Kim went to the floor for a steel chair.

Terrell kicked the chair out of Kim’s hand and started flinging her across the ring by her hair. Terrell went to the top for a bodypress but Kim pulled the chair up. The crowd chanted, “Holy sh**” at that. Kim began slamming Terrell’s legs onto the chair and wedged it between the turnbuckles.

Kim tried to run Terrell into the buckles but Terrell saved herself. Kim nailed her and locked on the ringpost figure four leglock. Nice shout out to Bret Hart. ODB began counting out Terrell, who pulled herself out. Kim went for her running sideways splash in the corner but Terrell moved out of the way. Kim hit the chair at full speed and landed hard on the floor. That was nutty.

Kim barely made it up at nine but Terrell put the figure four leglock on the ringpost. Kim began screaming and being very vocal at being hurt, much more than she usually does in the ring. Kim was outside in front of the ramp. Terrell went for a spear but Kim move and Terrell dove through the ring and crashed hard on the ramp. That was INSANE.

Terrell barely made it up. She nailed Kim and teased another spear, this time off the ramp to the floor but Kim took her legs out from under her and she took a hard back bump on the ramp. She was up at 9. Kim went for a piledriver on the ramp but Terrell slipped out and bulldogged her off the ramp to the Arena floor. This match is beyond insane.

Terrell just made it to her feet right before the 10 count.

Your winner, Taryn Terrell!

This was just great and far better than anyone would have guessed going into the match. They took some really insane bumps and worked so hard, it was ridiculous. Huge thumbs up out of me. Shocker of the night and I mean that as a compliment..

Mickie James Celebration

Suddenly, Gail Kim’s music interrupted. Gail said she appreciates the festivities around here. “Thank you,” Mickie quietly said. Gail said she doesn’t think Mickie is so fantastic because Mickie only won the KO Title because she softened up Velvet weeks ago. Gail said she has been so frustrated to the point that she took out her own partner, Tara, recently. Gail vowed to take out Taryn Terrell at Slammiversary, then vowed to be the last Knockout standing. After that, she’s regaining the Knockouts Title.

Velvet reminded Gail that she’s next in line, then Gail suddenly attacked the knee. Gail dragged Velvet to the outside as Mickie pretended to act frozen in time, not doing anything about Gail about to inflict more punishment to Velvet. Taryn then ran down to chase away Gail as Mickie slowly backed away from the ring in the background.

Suddenly, music played to bring out X Division champion Kenny King for mixed tag action next.

Back from break, Chris Sabin’s music played. Sabin came out to join Taryn for mixed tag action as Keneley talked up Sabin returning to action from multiple knee injuries. Before the bell sounded, the men had to restrain the women from trying to tear each other apart.

4 — X Division champion KENNY KING & GAIL KIM vs. CHRIS SABIN & TARYN TERRELL — mixed tag match — ODB referee

As the match started, Tenay announced Gail vs. Taryn will be a Last Knockout Standing match at the PPV. After the Knockouts went at it, Sabin and King entered the ring to battle. TNA then inserted a voice-over from Tenay with the details on Bound for Glory in San Diego in October.

[Q7] The match continued with Sabin and King continuing to battle and exchange control, with neither man able to gain a definitive advantage. Suddenly, the action broke down. After order was restored, Sabin delivered the Hail Sabin driver center-ring. Sabin covered King and it was good for the win.

Post-match: Sabin took the mic and said that after two years of physical therapy and pain, he will become a five-time X Division champion. Suddenly, King attacked Sabin from behind. King then wanted a finisher, but Suicide hit the ring and dropped King with a fallaway gutbuster. King rolled out of the ring, then Sabin stared down Suicide.

WINNERS: Sabin & Taryn at 5:01. The booking says Sabin gets the TV win and King remains champ in the Ultimate X match at the PPV, but Sabin remains in the title hunt.

Backstage: Gail Kim was standing by. Suddenly, audio was heard of a man a few miles away asking Gail for her thoughts on Slammiversary. Gail didn’t care about facing Taryn Terrell at Slammiversary, because she wants the Knockouts Title shot tonight. Suddenly, Taryn made Gail care by attacking her and slamming her into a door, then onto a table. Suddenly, a large man, who was later revealed as Irish Pat Kenney, grabbed Taryn from behind to pull her away. Gail high-tailed it down the hallway as Random Man #2 leaning against the hallway wall was focused on his phone.

Gail Kim vs Knockouts Champion Velvet Sky

This is non-title. They go back and forth until Velvet hits a snap suplex and unloads with some forearms and a bulldog. Velvet hits a flying headscissors and a running forearm in the corner, but Gail goes after Velvet’s bad knee and turns the tide instantly. Gail spends the next several minutes picking Velvet’s leg apart and gets her in a half crab, but Velvet makes the rope. Gail goes to the top and Velvet slams her off, but Gail goes right back to the knee. Gali easily blocks In Your Face, but Velvet gets a quick rollup out of nowhere and gets the fall.

Winner: Velvet Sky

Gail attacks Velvet immediately after the match, drags her to the corner, and gets the ringpost figure four.

Tara was introduced along with Jessie for Knockouts tag action. Gail Kim was out next as TNA replayed Gail trying to injure Taryn Terrell last week on Impact. Hardcore Country then brought out Mickie James, followed by Knockouts champion Velvet Sky.

1 — GAIL KIM & TARA (w/Jessie) vs. KO champion VELVET SKY & MICKIE JAMES — ODB referee

As the match started, Keneley plugged the news of Impact moving back to 9:00 p.m. EST starting May 30. In the ring, the heels quickly isolated Mickie. The match built to Velvet tagging in to drop Tara with In Your Face for the pin and the win. Velvet, still selling her knee injury, celebrated with Mickie before leaving the ring.

After the match, Gail was not pleased with Tara, prompting Gail to drop her tag partner. Gail then tried to finish Tara a la Taryn last week by wrapping Tara’s knee around the ringpost. This brought over ODB, who pulled Gail away and drove her away from ringside.

WINNERS: Sky & Mickie at 3:30.

In-ring: Gail Kim was introduced for Knockouts tag action. After Gail entered the ring, Tara was introduced as her tag partner. TNA replayed Taryn pinning Tara last week, then Taryn was introduced to the ring as the announcers argued about TNA vs. Aces & Eights issues.

[Commercial Break]
4 — GAIL KIM & TARA vs. TARYN TERRELL & MICKIE JAMES — ODB referee

Back from break, Mickie James was introduced to the ring to round out the participants. ODB then called for the bell to begin the match. The two teams traded control early on as TNA plugged Mickie’s new album.

The heels isolated Mickie, but couldn’t put her away with pin attempts. Mickie then escaped and tagged in Taryn, who landed offense before the match broke down. After Mickie cleared Gail to the floor, Taryn rolled up Tara for the pin and the win.

After the match, the heels jumped the winners to take out their frustration and attempt to humiliate Taryn. After Mickie and Tara brawled to the back, Gail attacked Taryn and tried to injure her before refs forced her to the back.

WINNERS: Taryn & Mickie at 6:26.

2 — GAIL KIM vs. TARYN TERRELL — ODB special referee

Back from break, “Corpus” Christy Hemme was standing by to introduce Gail Kim, then Taryn Terrell to face her enemy from the past few months. As Taryn completed her introduction, the announcers plugged a new Knockouts website coming in two Thursdays.

ODB was introduced as special referee, prompting Taz to complain that ODB is refereeing with a flask in her hand, making her unfit to officiate, of course. A brawl broke out, then ODB called for the bell. Once the match started, Gail controlled the action and argued with ODB in-between punishing Taryn. Taryn then surprised Gail with a roll-up and ODB made the count for the win. After the match, Gail argued with ODB, who chased her away, then Hemme interviewed Taryn about winning her first match.

WINNER: Taryn at 2:29.
